RPM has been serving the DMV area since 2019. RPM services all aircraft makes and models. We specialize in Mooney, Bonanza, and PA-30 aircraft. We provide general aviation maintenance and preventative services, aircraft modifications and enhancements, annual inspections, and pre-purchase evaluations. RPM provides high quality maintenance services to keep your aircraft flying.

Meet The Employees

Byron is the owner of RPM, an A&P mechanic, IA, and is a highly skilled major airline Captain with 28 years of experience in aviation and 13 years working in aviation maintenance. As both a pilot and a licensed aircraft mechanic, his expertise extends across various aircraft and is able to understand aircraft systems from a mechanic and pilot’s perspective. Byron has over 11,000 hours of flight time in over 60 aircraft makes and models. Byron is a CFII and an ATP with type ratings in a BE-1900, CRJ, 747-200, 747-400, 737, A320. Byron’s problem-solving skills are not limited to aviation; he enjoys tackling challenges in flying, cars, and home projects.

Becca occasionally assists her husband Byron with RPM’s operations. She earned her pilot’s license as a teenager, and flies her M20J for fun and in air races. Becca has a Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering and a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, and after 15 years of experience as an engineer in the space industry, she is now a practicing lawyer.

Steve, a major airline pilot since 2004, is also a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) who teaches in his Citabria tailwheel aircraft. He began his apprenticeship in aviation maintenance in 2020, showcasing a commitment to continuous learning. His lifetime in experience fixing things on the farm has translated well to resolving problems in older general aviation aircraft. Steve's dual roles highlight his dedication to both flying and expanding his skill set, reflecting his passion for ongoing excellence in the aviation industry.

Jack holds an A&P certification and a degree from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He loves all things mechanical and has been around aviation since he was a child. Jack is working on his PPL and spends his off time refurbishing an old school bus into a modern RV.

Skip is a former Marine Corps pilot and aircraft maintenance officer and is actively working on his A&P with a focus on avionics systems. He has been involved in aviation for decades. He now works in the IT industry, and spends his off time flying his Mooney for Pilots and Paws, Patient Airlift Services, and traveling around the country.
